Burnaby Industrial Window Service

There are plenty of reasons why industries require an industrial window washing company to inspect and clean their windows. The company contracted must be able to cope with the environment and, at the same time, deliver without causing any delays in production.
If you are involved in manufacturing, then you know how gloomy the room can be when dirty windows block natural light. A moody environment reduces productivity, and this, in return, results in reduced revenues.

How do you know if you require industrial window washing services?

1. Check if the windows are grimy
It's easy to know whether your windows are grimy. Just take a white piece of cloth and slide it on the window. Does the white piece of cloth have stains on it? If yes, your facility requires window washing services. Three main reasons why the windows are grimy are: Smoke from the industrial facility, exhaust from employee cars and manufacturing debris.
2. Your employees are always getting sick
Sick employees result in a drop in productivity, and this negatively affects the business. In most cases, employers fail to inspect their windows for black mould or dust mites. On the other hand, business owners might be believing that their employees are getting sick because of other factors such as factory smoke or a flu outbreak.

wayside Window Cleaning are experts in cleaning the following industrial windows:

Fixed Glass
These are glasses that are not operable and are mainly used for office partitions and to offer a great view of the outside world. These types of windows are known to harbour bacteria because they do not allow ventilation.

Sliding Windows
These are fixed in place using an aluminum frame. In most cases, dust accumulates within the structure, and if not properly removed, it can become a health hazard.

Awning Windows
Awning windows are usually placed high up on the wall and are opened outwards for ventilation purposes. Because they are located high up on a wall, they are not easy to reach, making it hard for them to be cleaned. With time, dust will accumulate on the window’s outer part, becoming a breeding ground for bacteria.

Louvred Windows
Louvered windows are horizontal glass pieces that are usually attached to a timber frame and opened at an angle to allow breeze and maximum air movement into the industrial facility. The biggest problem with Louvered windows is that they are time-consuming to clean. This is especially so if your workers do not have the right equipment.

If you believe your industrial windows are a breeding ground for harmful bacteria or if they are visibly dirty, don't hesitate to give us a call for a free quote!

Industrial Chemical Cleaning

To remove streaks and stains on windows, we use specially formulated solutions. These solutions contain harmful chemicals that should not be handled without protective clothing. The type of chemical used will depend on several factors. One of them is the type of contaminant found on the window, and the other factor is whether the window has streaks or not.

Despite the type of chemical used, all chemical cleaning products use water as its main ingredient. Other chemicals used in window washing include:

Isopropyl Alcohol
This chemical is sometimes known as ISO. It is used in window washing solutions because it quickly dissolves mineral contaminants and organic matter. It is a powerful chemical with a strong odour and it is for this reason that a fragrance is added to the solution. ISO evaporates fast and leaves windows streakless. It is also used for purifying equipment and tools.

Ammonia
Just like ISO, it does not leave any streaks on your windows. It is for this reason that we add ammonia into the solution. Another reason why we incorporate ammonia in our window cleaning solutions is that it is a strong surfactant and dries fast.

Chlorine
Chlorine is suitable for window cleaning because it kills biological impurities on surfaces. For it to work effectively, the right formulation must be used. Otherwise, it will be too strong and burn your skin.

Monoethanolamine
This is an organic compound that smells like ammonia. It is a good cleaning agent and should be sufficiently diluted, or it will become too caustic and toxic. When used in a solution, it acts as a solvent for impurities.

Perchloroethylene
This is one chemical that dry cleaners must use. It works as a solvent with a strong odour. When used in cleaning glass, only a small quantity of it should be used. It is non-flammable and chemically stable.

Sodium Hydroxide
Sodium Hydroxide acts as a surfactant. It is a caustic solvent making it a favourite among window washers.
